Running
By Nathan Birdsall
The Winter Warmers, our new 5k and 10k race series for 2019 have a been a blast this month with over 2500 runners taking part throughout the UK. Kicking off at Cardiff's Bute Park we have hit the road this month taking the Winter Warmer vibe to Birmingham, Nottingham and finally Milton Keynes. The Winter Warmers have been a fantastic addition to our race calendar with many runners using the February date as a goal for their January training and many others using the race series as a stepping stone to a Spring marathon or half.
Whatever your distance, we have been super proud to host this race series in aid of Shelter, who do fantastic work in regard to tackling homelessness in Britain. With a lack of safe, secure and affordable homes in the UK, homelessness is affecting people across the whole country - with more than three million families possibly being one paycheck away from losing their home this is really such an important cause and we have been happy to help in any way we can.
We hope to bring the Winter Warmers back bigger and better in 2020, with plenty of more penguin outfits, snow machine race starts and even an igloo to warm up in - we can't wait to hit the road again and bring the Winter Warmer 5k and 10k to somewhere near you next year!
Thanks to everyone who took part this year. Please share your pictures and experiences with us, check out: https://www.instagram.com/thefixevents/ and if you'd like to post something about the Winter Warmer events and use the hashtag #fixevents we'd really appreciate it!
