Multisports Event Manager - 3 Month Initial Contract

The Fix Events is one of the leading multisport event management companies in the UK, hosting over 70 annual events across the UK & Ireland, including running, triathlons, corporate and charity events. Indeed, we have worked alongside the likes of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Guide Dogs UK, The Royal Mail Group and on the Go Dad Run project, inspired by Colin Jackson to raise money for Prostate Cancer. We are also currently working for The Royal British Legion.

We also created MoRunning and this year we will have 24 MoRuns across the UK and Ireland during the month of November, as well as a Virtual MoRun. MoRunning delivers fun, friendly and open 1.5k, 5k and 10k running events, in support of the Movember Foundation, the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health.

We are also contracted to The Royal British Legion to manage 10 Poppy Runs across the country during October & November and we now need another Event Manager to help us deliver MoRunning and the Poppy Runs.  

The Role:

We are looking for an Event Manager to deliver Poppy Runs and MoRunning events during October and November, to the very highest of standards.  Ideally you will have previous experience of setting up and executing sporting events and have on the ground knowledge of managing event hubs, course routes, staff, suppliers, partners and of course participants.  You will manage events as a whole, from packing up the vans, to setting up the event hub, marking out the 1.5k, 5k & 10k courses, managing staff and ensuring the event runs smoothly from start to finish and to our standards.

Event days are typically Saturdays and Sundays. Travel to and from events will be required.  Some setup and travel maybe required on Fridays, dependent on location. 

Site visits will be required for all the MoRuns & Poppy Runs that you are managing and these will take place during September and early October. 

Lock up management - support in the management of stock, sorting out medals, supplies, packing vans etc.

Staffing - recruiting - communicating with event day staff / marshals

Additional administrative work - other ad hoc admin, marketing and advertising work as required.

Based at the Reigate Head Office, as well as at home and on location.  It will be desirable to be local to Surrey.

Full time from 2nd September to end November 2019.

Drivers license required

Skills required:

Flexible, ‘can do’ attitude

Ability to work under pressure

Prepared for early mornings to set up event hubs and running courses

Meticulous in details and focus on ensuring highest standards possible

Support: 

We will provide specific training & support

We will provide race day logistics, preparation, staffing, supplies, park management, pre-event registration & communication management etc 

We will provide a full event brief with event details and requirements

We will provide a super friendly team of marshal’s and event day staff, some of whom have worked for Fix Events for over 5 years 

The Compensation:

£1800 per month, negotiable depending on experience

Flexible home working

Travel & accommodation expenses paid, when attending events outside of home region.
