In these crazy times it’s important to stay active and healthy.  Here are some great ideas whether it’s for staying in the peak of your powers or keeping yourself active and fit while at home while in isolation.

 

Yoga

Yoga is great for the mind and the body and all you need is a small space and patience!  And remember there are lot’s of different types of yoga, do some research to see which type suits you and your needs best – whether it’s staying supple with basic movements or really getting your sweat on, there is a form of yoga for everyone.

 

Use the stairs

There are many different things in your home that can be adapted to fit your work out needs and the stairs is a perfect example!  Try squats and steps up and down, increase and repeat as your legs get stronger and feel the benefits of using those stairs!

 

Routine

It’s super important to keep a routine, not just for your physical benefits but also your mental health.  Whether it’s a morning routine of some sit up and push ups, or stretching or going for a run, base your exercise around meal times and give your self-isolated days some structure!

 

Weights

Just because you’re not hitting the gym doesn’t mean you can’t lift.  Find household items with correct weight and balance and hit those reps!  Being at home shouldn’t mean you lose that strength so replace your normal routine, even if it is more reps with less weight.  Keep on moving and make sure you’re ready to pick up in the gym where you left off, or even use this time to get your core strength to where you want it to be.
