Running
By Nathan Birdsall
We kicked off 2018 in great style this weekend, with our first event of the year. Returning to our running home in Richmond Park for the initial Run Richmond Park of the year, it was great to see lots of familiar faces plus some newbies to the Fix Events family!
The skies were overcast and the deer nowhere to be seen as we arrived to set up, but as the gazebos were set up and our marshals arrived early the sun did it’s best to sneak out of the clouds. We began the 5k race at 10am as normal our runners took off towards the Queens Gate making great time. Shortly afterwards our lovely 10k runners began their two laps of the wonderful Richmond Park, including two boys who had never done a run before but managed to beat their Dad around the 10k by quite a distance! You’ve got some talented lads there!
Our runners made it back to the finish line and were welcomed as returning heroes, with medals, trophies, plenty of water and sweets to be given out by our marshals and enjoyed by all. Though, our sweets went rather quickly this month so I’ll make sure to bring more next month!
Great fun was had by all with some great times being posted so congratulations to everyone who took part. We hope to see you at plenty of Fix Events throughout 2018!
