Henley Royal Regatta from Wednesday 29th June to Sunday 3rd July 2016, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

As one of the biggest regattas in the world, with a royal tradition to boot, Henley is one of the top sporting, social and hospitality events in the UK … and it’s nearly here!

Since the first regatta back in 1839, Henley has grown in popularity and size, with five days of the calendar now devoted to the best in amateur and professional rowing and just the right mix of VIP and corporate hospitality. As well as the exciting build-up of the rowing heats as the crews head towards the final weekend of competition, the event is awash with fine dining, concept entertainment and an atmosphere that has to be experienced to be believed. What makes Henley additionally exciting is that as well as experiencing the fun of Henley from the waterside, it’s also possible to take to the water for the ultimate views of the aquatic action, with exclusive boat charters to offer a highest quality Henley experience. British Grand Prix, Silverstone, Northamptonshire

Iconic Silverstone is the once again the location for British Grand Prix, from 8thto 10thJuly 2016. Offering fast, furious and frenetic excitement, both to F1 drivers as well as onlookers, this blistering hot experience is second to none for those looking for something extra special for hospitality and entertainment.

As well as the fast-track racing, top F1 personalities and interactive media coverage, this year’s event also offers the chance to be pole position for concerts from the UK’s top musicians, including Texas, The Feeling and the aptly named Mike & The Mechanics. With day tickets which include access to that evening’s concert, Silverstone offers a full day’s sporting and entertainment experience.

Cartier International Day Sunday 25th July at Smith’s Lawn, Windsor Great Park, Egham, Surrey

Polo makes a fantastic spectator sport and the perfect polo spectator experience comes annually with the Cartier International Day. Although it’s invitation-only for the participating teams, which this year include an invitation to the Prince of Wales team, hospitality packages make it possible to be a part of this prestigious event and witness some of the top players from around the world in action.

Superb match clashes are all part of the day and are highly anticipated by sportsmen and spectators alike, with upcoming players and old hands all keen to make their mark at this prestigious event and demonstrate the highest standards of polo play.

As well as the matches, the event also offers a full hospitality with private enclosures, marquee and retail events, VIP experiences and after-match entertainments which carry on well into the night.

Glorious Goodwood, 26th to 30th July 2016, Goodwood, West Sussex

Still on horse-back, one of the thoroughbreds of horse racing events takes place straight after the Cartier event, but this time down in the beautiful rolling hillsides of West Sussex. The home of the prestigious and highly competitive Steward’s Cup, the Glorious Goodwood Festival offers equine excitement, race-day surprises and the chance for high class hospitality.

Particular event favourites include Ladies’ Day on Thursday 28th, when riders sport designer silks and the spectating ladies can enjoy a day of dressing up, dining and drinking of the finest order. The event’s grand finale, the Steward’s Cup takes place on Saturday 30thJuly and sees 28 horses battle it out for one of the top trophies in the UK.

Cowes Week 6th to 13th August, West Cowes, Isle of Wight

Another water-based sporting event which also has a reputation for attracting a royal following is Cowes Week. This superb sailing regatta has been running for almost a century since it began in 1826 and shows no decline in popularity. In fact, it’s fast becoming one of the sailing, sporting and social events of the year, with up to 1,000 boats participating in some serious regatta racing against a fine festival backdrop.

Just as Henley attracts rowers from all sides of the sport, so Cowes also sees world-class and Olympic sailors alongside casual crews – that’s around 8,500 competitors in total. Cowes Week is traditionally held on the picturesque Isle of Wight, which lends itself to the holiday atmosphere of this event with plenty of parties, shore-side attractions and hospitality opportunities.

From hospitality to networking and from team building to delivering experiences, the top sporting events in the UK this summer can bring plenty of opportunities for kicking back, enjoying the pursuit of challenges and being part of cheering on individual and team success. What’s more, all of these take place among some of the finest sporting scenery in Britain, so check out the sports event for something to look forward to this summer.
